Gerry Anderson tribute - Sleeping Astronaut
Crazy that this show originally aired in the summer of 2000, talking about 1973 that was then 27 years ago. So in 3 years more time will have passed since 2000 than had between 1973 and then. Thats a weird thought.....
I lived on there for 1 week in 1977 when I worked for trinity house for the inspector of works department at harwich. we had fog for 2 days. imagine trying to sleep with that noise.
Love thy Neighbour was fun to watch for black family's we loved it back then but its absolute cringe to watch today. Jack Smethurst was right the show for the 70s and should stay in the 70s
Johnny Vegas was 2 in 1972. I doubt he remembers buying sweets that year. I was 11, and remember all the stuff in this show.
I wish that the entire first episode would be uploaded. It was written by creator Walter Hill. This short-lived series inspired Shane Black. I would love to see an entire episode, thanks.
Brotherhood of Man were formed in 1969 and then re-formed as a four-piece in 1973.
elle mcpherson gives this essential programme an edge she proves that she is'nt just eye candy for every male on the planet,...........
Well this aged well!… Gary Glitter!
The year I left school and started my first full-time job at 17. I miss those days!
I had a grey duffel coat, a poncho n plastic mac n hat to match! We seemed to be mini versions of mum as well. Short dresses n hot pants to play out in during summer. Played out alot as well! Carefree kids we were. ❤❤❤❤😊😊😊😊
Oh that creepy dark n lonely water PBI film, i nearly freaked out when i saw this!! It was meant to scare you into being sensible out in the wilds there! Loved some of then toons as a kid ❤❤❤❤😊😊😊😊
Apparently we should ban or put warnings on 1976 in case snowflakes see it
I bet this came from The TV Hits Album. I remember my father having that cassette and listening to it when I started getting into cassettes myself.
In my opinion the 70s and 80s sitcoms will never become boring no matter how much they are repeated and Noddie holder and Roland rat were my favourite hosts of I love
Nice one Paul so funny
The family are so funny in this episode
Timmy thomas track ❤
Parka was warm .good coat.
Fiona so jealous of Olivia.olivia had every reason to be in those clothes.she had a knock out figure..sandy was born to be in those clothes. Meow.
I feel love was 77 not 76
So many memories
I hate how they say Liza Minelli wasn't attractive. She was a beautiful lady.
Toys in the 70s were so cool
RIP Richard Rowntree
Kojak was the project manager
Take me back to this time even for just a day to be a kid again and see my mum and dad again in their prime and all the people i knew as they were at that time. In my 40s now and so many young and old have passed. God bless them all.
Ruined by the comments from third rate sycophants.
My brother an I tuned in for Clive James every New Year's eve. It really was event TV for those of us who chose to stay at home and get drunk! We followed the news and so every story referred to here was significant.Thank you for uploading this gem!
Why that show wasn't a hit Kim Basinger gorgeous girl ❤❤❤❤
And I miss that year 1971❤❤❤
The commentary mentions an expected lifespan of at least 50 years. It didn’t quite manage it and now all that remains is the telescopic support leg. Nevertheless an amazing engineering achievement.
Lynda Carter is still gorgeous.

I'm pretty sure if this was I Love 1871 the same so called celebrities would be reminiscing about their experiences of that year.
🤣🤣🤣
I like it when Steve Priest said that David Bowie said “you know you really are putting much too much makeup on” and Steve’s response “oh get real” And how could David even talk about too much makeup on Steve. I mean his face was practically covered in makeup.
The decommissioning of the structure was planned early in its life. But this also highlights the excellent work done by all those designers and engineers who built the stone lighthouses of the past still in service today. They had less technology and yet they have delivered strong stable structures that have outlived this poxy modern structure.
Bring the lightship back 😂😂
I lived through this, it was all a bit shite really, high inflation, strikes, useless government, still got that!. It was difficult to get stuff, cars that broke down, even if new, most bosses were traumatised officers from the war. It was a great summer, and with very rose tinted spectacles, it can seem appealing. The best things from 1976 are the new avengers, and Triumph TR7, and of course the weather.
Elle is great
What's the name of the first song sung in the charts section?
I don’t understand all these young people who are commenting in this show they have not even been born in 1978 but they’re commenting as if they lived 1978 as an adults? When was this show created? When was it originally aired?
2001
I totally agree, Lucy Porter is talking about Grease & in 1978 & she turned 5 that year. Utterly pointless.
An expected life span of 50 years, so spot on..
Why exactly did this series start from 1972? I mean, why were years 1970 and 1971 omitted and never filmed?
1970 one was hosted by Jimmy Savile and featured Rolf Harris. 😂
@@annoldham3018 1970 The best episode of the series
Extraordinary
With another 5-6 weeks at number from Wizzard, See My Baby Jive and Angel Fingers, then you can complete the Glam Rock story of 1973.
The accompanying background music in this is incredible.
I also had the toy the clackers.
Love the Marc Bolan segment.
